Dog-Friendly Cookies for Christmas

One of the best parts of the holiday season is all the fun traditions we share with our family and friends. Baking cookies and leaving them out for Santa is one that never gets old. This year, don’t forget to include your puppy in your holiday rituals, and make some dog-friendly treats for them to enjoy!

The only ingredients you need to make cookies for your pooch are all-natural peanut butter, a couple of eggs, whole wheat flour and water. It’s that simple! Mix all four ingredients in a bowl to make the dough. Add water as needed until you find the right consistency for your cookies. Then bake them in the oven on high for a few minutes or until cooked through.

Want to make your cookies recipe extra Christmassy? Add a little bit of cinnamon and use cookie cutters in fun holiday shapes.

These cookies are great for dogs and even good enough for Santa’s reindeer. So don’t forget to leave them out on Christmas Eve with a glass of milk for every animal to enjoy!

  • 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step 2: Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff. Roll the dough into a 1/2-inch-thick roll. Cut into 1/2-inch pieces.
