Montréal, Canada – We’re proud to share that Doggy Bathroom was recognized by the Meaning-Centred Design Awards in 2018, even while still in its prototype stage.

This annual international award program honours projects that reflect a thoughtful response to evolving societal values and perceptions—placing meaning at the heart of design. Each year, designers and creators are invited to submit work that speaks to a central theme and reveals how form and function can create emotional and cultural resonance.

Doggy Bathroom stood out for rethinking the relationship between pets and urban spaces. Designed as an indoor potty solution that respects a dog’s natural behaviours—particularly for male dogs who lift their leg—this concept challenged traditional assumptions around cleanliness, privacy, and design integration in compact living environments.

Winners were selected by a panel of respected industry experts, and the 2018 award ceremony was held on October 22, during a time when Doggy Bathroom had yet to enter full production.

Being recognized at such an early stage encouraged our commitment to solving real-world problems through design. It remains a foundational milestone in our journey.
